Improvised Communications
provides new release and event promotion services designed specifically
for those creating, recording and presenting independent creative
improvised music outside the jazz mainstream. Our discerning, focused
and practical approach to promoting this music is customized to
advance the careers of those challenging existing boundaries to
create new and distinctive avenues for improvisation in the 21st
century.
We primarily work with record labels, presenters
and venues, but our client list also includes independent musicians
ranging from newcomers to many of the most respected names in improvised
music. Since our inception in March 2002, we have promoted over
110 recordings and nearly 225 live events in partnership with organizations
such as 482 Music, AUM Fidelity, Creative Nation Music, Firehouse
12, Playscape Recordings and the Vision Festival among many others.
We take our responsibility as a prominent
conduit between practitioners of improvised music and the local/national/international
media that supports it very seriously. Our goal is to serve the
best interests of each of our clients, while also increasing both
the visibility and viability of the genre at large by representing
it with integrity, respect and attention to detail. Like our clients,
our approach continues to evolve as we extend, combine and defy
the traditions of the past to create new ways to move the music
forward.
